So, we’ve lived through 2012. I guess that is an accomplishment.
Reflecting on the doomsday prophecies and the various depressing news of the last few weeks. I thought this year-end post would be a good time to reflect on the good things that have happened over the last year for our family. It took some time to find a good event from each month, but I think we’ve found them. I’ll keep the descriptions brief and the pictures plentiful.
In January, we celebrated Chinese New Year. Every year is a great celebration, but this time was particularly fun. Noah and I volunteered at the annual Chinese Chamber of Commerce New Year Party. Good food and dressing up in our Chinese outfits were only some of the fun we had that week.
In February, Casey traveled down to Stanford for the JRCLS annual conference. Many thanks for the hospitality from his cousin Phil and family for hosting him. We only got to spend a brief afternoon, but it was wonderful to see them.
In March, we took advantage of spring break to head off on a vacation to Chicago. I wrote a longer blog post earlier this year about our adventure in the Windy City, but it was our first experience with AirBnB, we got to see the Mythbusters, and we got to see the St. Paddy’s Day Parade!
In April, I survived finals.
In May, I graduated from Seattle University School of Law and finished my formal education. The best part of the weekend was celebrating my family and friends. A special thanks is deserved for my grandparents, uncle, and parents who traveled up to Seattle for the ceremony.
In June, I started work at my new job with Serengeti Law. I joined the team as a Client Support Associate to work with in-house counsel and lawyers. Our company makes software for corporate law departments and has turned out to be a great place to work.
In July, Noah started work at her new job with Microsoft. She works in Issaquah with the Training and Development team on Xbox, Windows Phone 8, and Surface. Her work keeps her busy, but she is enjoying working on exciting projects and I enjoy all the video games that I get to play with at home.
In August, we traveled down to Mexico to meet our family for a tropical vacation. I wrote a longer post earlier this year about our trip but the best part was spending time my sister and her husband.
In September, Noah got to go on her first business trip with Microsoft. She went to Japan to visit some of her call center teams. One of her last nights in Japan, she watch the Yokohama Fireworks Festival fire of a display over the bay in front her hotel. This fireworks display continued for over an hour.
In October, Noah ventured off on her second business trip with Microsoft to China. During this trip, she got to travel all around the country, but spent some time in the beautiful city of SuZhou. Casey also presented at the Pacific Northwest Aviation and Insurance Law Conference.
In November, we ran the Mustache Dache and celebrated our 6th anniversary in Vancouver.
In December, survived wrapping up the year at our companies and have journey off to McCall for much needed rest and relaxation in the snowy mountains.
To all our friends and family, we wish you a very merry Christmas. We hope that you find time to relax, enjoy the holiday, and reflect on the many blessing you have received over the past year.
